Hi and welcome to the Shifnal Youth Council (SYC) website.
The SYC is all about the young people of Shifnal. We hope to provide a strong community, a place where the youth of the town can be themselves and enjoy.
Our Aim:
To enable the opinions of young people to be heard and to encourage their active involvement in community decision making. We also aim to give youths a place they can hang out with friends and not turn into a gang member which are on our streets currently.
Get Involved...Make a Difference
We can only make this a success with your help, so come along and join us, put your own ideas forward and lets create the perfect place to hang out with friends and ENJOY.
Anyone aged between 11 and 18 who lives in and around Shifnal can become an SYC representative. We are actively looking for new people to get involved.
We are also looking for some more Adult SYC members, who are over 18 years old!
 Not only does being a representative give you a chance to have your say, you also learn loads about what's going on and gain valuable skills which will look good on your CV. You also have chances to talk to the police and the town council to put your ideas forward about how to make the town better.
Benefits:
Meet new people, having fun away from the streets, not getting in trouble with the police for causing mayhem, connections with local organisations, making a difference.
Even if you don't want to become a representative you can still join in or let us know if there is something happening in your area that annoys you or you have an idea that could make Shifnal a better place. You don't have to be a representative to enjoy yourselves at the youth club! Anyone between the ages 11 - 16 can attend the youth club without being a representative.
